Our Diaphragm Pump Guardian System is an intelligent solution designed as an energy-savings device that ensures the longevity and efficiency of your Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pump (AODD). By preventing unnecessary energy consumption and extending the lifecycle of pump components, this Guardian System enhances safety in high-risk applications. The Guardian System continuously monitors the discharge fluid pressure and intervenes by stopping the pump’s operation when the pressure exceeds or falls below the set point, depending on the configuration.

Options & Variations
The Diaphragm Pump Guardian System offers unique monitoring and control capabilities for various applications. By fitting a Tapflo Guardian to your pump, you gain access to different functionalities before delivery or on-site installation:
Dry Run & Stop (PDRN System):
- Monitors fluid discharge pressure to prevent pump operation in the absence of media, extending diaphragm life and reducing compressed air consumption
Deadhead & Stop (PDHS System): - Monitors fluid discharge pressure to halt the pump when pressure reaches the setpoint due to a closed valve or overpressure, enhancing diaphragm life and ensuring safe operation
Deadhead & Restart (PDHR System):
- Monitors fluid discharge pressure and stops the pump at the setpoint due to closed valve or overpressure, automatically restarting when pressure falls below the set level
Dry Run & Deadhead Protection (EDRH System):
- Ensures reliable, safe pump operation with reduced compressed air consumption and longer diaphragm lifespan
- Allows precise configuration of pump on/off parameters up to 0.05 Bar for efficient protection and real-time pressure indication
Barrier Pump Monitoring & Control (PDFM System):
- Monitors pressure between primary and backup diaphragms in barrier pumps (TB), stopping the pump if pressure exceeds the setpoint
- Used in conjunction with the Diaphragm Alarm System for high-level safety, preventing liquid leakage and environmental contamination
The Guardian System incorporates AISI 316L and intuitive operation with three buttons, enabling accurate settings and protection parameters up to 0.05 Bar. It is available for Tapflo AODD pumps from 2″ and up, with options for ABS Plastic (IP55 or 65) or Stainless Steel AISI 316 (IP44) panels.
